The Killing Joke >VG<

20 years ago, "The Killing Joke" was released. "The Killing Joke" is a highly-acclaimed Batman comic that tells the origin story of The Joker. It is considered the greatest Joker story ever told, as well as one of the greatest comics of all-time, period. Tim Burton claims the comic was a major influence on his 1989 movie "Batman" and you can see how it heavily influenced the plot and character structure of Christopher Nolan's 2008 film "The Dark Knight" as well, specifically his portrayal of The Joker (In preparation for the role, Heath Ledger was given a copy of "The Killing Joke"). The comic ends with The Joker telling a joke so funny it makes the always-serious Batman himself crack up laughing. Being the 20th anniversary, I thought it'd share that joke with all of you (word-for-word how it appears in the comic):

See, there were these two guys in a lunatic asylum... and one night... one night they decide they don't like living in an asylum any more. They decide they’re going to escape! So like they get up on to the roof, and there, just across the narrow gap, they see the rooftops of the town, stretching away in moon light... stretching away to freedom. Now the first guy he jumps right across with no problem. But his friend, his friend daren't make the leap. Y'see he's afraid of falling... So then the first guy has an idea. He says "Hey! I have my flash light with me. I will shine it across the gap between the buildings. You can walk across the beam and join me." But, the second guy just shakes his head. He says... he says "What do you think I am, crazy? You would turn it off when I was half way across."
