When we first moved to our town in 1994 my son was almost 6. He was a shy boy...an only child and his first friend in our neiborhood was a boy a little big for his age and 1 and half years older than my son. His name was Kyle. When my son told me I had to meet his new friend, I said GREAT have him in for lunch or a snack! This kid would always look me in the eye when speaking to me, was friendly, funny, and would protect my son from bullies in the neighborhood. When I had surgery on my foot, he stopped by and I explained to him my son wasn't there. He told me he wasn't there to see my son, that he stopped by to see how I was doing after my surgery! He was about 11 at that time.....Over the years my son and him drifted apart and had separate friends; but always chatted in the neighborhood (this is a small town) and when he was about 17 was diagnosed with cancer. I had just seen his dad about a month ago when Kyle was 21, and he said it was in remission and they had hope....I felt so much for these parents and Kyles sister who he was close to. We just heard last weekend that Kyle had died. My son is 19 now and broke down in tears.....How sad for a 21 yr old and his family......This kid was happy, honest, funny, and loved his family and his friends.....Please say a prayer for Kyle today! Karrie
